Hospitalizations have doubled or nearly doubled in Connecticut, Delaware, New Hampshire, New Jersey and New York since Nov. 1. Between August 12, 2021, and December 6, 2021, 10,236 ED encounters with a primary diagnosis of COVID-19 were observed. Protection against infection and death during the Delta-predominant period and against infection during Omicron emergence were higher among booster vaccine dose recipients, especially among persons aged 5064 and 65 years.
